Algebra Blessett- Run and Hide
So I am like the last to report on ‘ol girl here. I’m loving her originality and the style that she has made her own. By the way she dresses you’d think she’d be beltin out something similar to Kelis but when you hear her blow you hear it’s nothing similar. It’s more soulful and has meaning to it (something Kelis has always lacked IMO).
But to be real with Algebra, I have only listened to the songs that are on her myspace and none of them are on the level of Run and Hide. I actually couldn’t get through any of them. Her songs were all to familiar . They all sound like something we’ve all heard before. If Algebra wants to come up in the biz she needs to take more risks and do songs that set her apart.
I’ll give her this, she does put a fresh and original face to an old sound. But I’d rather spend my money on some artists who I already know will deliver e.g India Arie, Erykah Badu

Proton-Magazine Dreamz
I’m bumping this trak by Proton because I honestly can’t stop replaying it. And like the geek I am I was listening for every shout out they gave during the song. IMO this a great part 2 to Biggie’s Dream which was the inspiration for this song. What would my bog be without a comparison….
Biggie Smalls- Dreams
And even further from that… So I was listening to the trak and I was thinking that the rhythm and beat were extremely familiar. And thats when it hit me . EFFIN FLOETRY!!
Floetry ft. Mos Def- Wanna B Where U R
So I guess they did a excellent job in taking the originality of others and making it their own. It’s hard to come by any artist who are truly original these days. I guess this match up proves my theory that rappers aren’t anything more than glorified DJs. Just ask Kanye…that’s how he pays his bills
